About Us

Background

I'm Sutthida (better known as Dream), born and raised in Bangkok before moving to the UK with my family as a teenager. That's me on the right as a child!

Growing up in Thailand, I was always involved in the kitchen, helping my family cook meals from scratch as part of daily life. My mum owned a small restaurant in Bangkok selling street food, and I remember the feeling of excitement going to the market with her to shop for fresh ingredients and watching how she put together all the different dishes so skilfully.

I certainly see my mum as my inspiration when it comes to Thai cooking and entrepreneurship.

'Kiin'-spiration

Being of Thai heritage, I've always enjoyed cooking authentic dishes from my homeland for friends and family, and introducing new flavours they haven't tried before. My specialities are classic dishes of central Thailand including Pad Ga Prao (spicy stir fry with holy basil), Gang Keaw Wan (green curry) and Pad Thai.

The business idea was a result of our (mine and Ady's) experiences throughout the unprecedented lockdown periods of 2020, when restaurant options were practically non-existent - even for the brief periods of 'reopening' we found the dining experience was simply not quite the same.

We decided we wanted to create something of our own whereby we could share the food that we enjoy with our local community, and in February 2021 Kiin was born.

Our carefully thought out menu offers a selection of my hometown favourites providing a range of flavours, textures and spice for all to enjoy.
